(New Orleans, LA) State Farm Bayou Classic® XXXVIII is pleased to announce its “Official Schedule of Events” for the weekend of November 24 - 27, 2011. This annual extravaganza features one of America's greatest college sports rivalries, bringing the fans and alumni of Southern University and Grambling State University to New Orleans each November for a celebration of football, family and the traditions and pageantry surrounding Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

“Our schedule for this 38th annual Bayou Classic will connect the schools' students, alumni and fans of HBCU football through the My Bayou Classic Experience,” said Paul Dauphin, operations director of the State Farm Bayou Classic.

This year’s Bayou Classic features several new events, including a Thanksgiving Day Parade, '70s House Party, Inspirational Brunch, Technology Showcase and the HBCU Summit – a conversation of issues important to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. “While we have added new and exciting events to our line-up, Friday’s Battle of the Bands and Saturday’s football classic between Grambling and Southern remain the signature events of the Bayou Classic,” said Dauphin.
